Casa do Douro Stained Glass

Peso da Régua
Description

The stained glass at Casa do Douro, by painter Lino António, summarises the whole dynamics of the Douro Demarcated Region. It has an approximate surface area of 50m2 and forms a triptych. In the central panel, we can see three major figures. The middle figure represents the Casa do Douro and shows a parchment in which one can read: “…Casa do Douro, Decree 21 883, November 1932”. This means that the Government, through this decree-law, created the Industry Federation of the Winegrowers of the Douro Region, in November 1932, today called Casa do Douro.
